Applications for LTFT should be made during the window set for your rotation.
For childcare, caring responsibilities and ill health applications you should give at least 16 weeks’ notice of your wish to train LTFT to allow sufficient time for us to notify your employing trust, and to discuss with your training programme director for the purposes of rotational planning and contract/salary adjustment.
If we receive less notice, please note that even if you have Trust and TPD support, your application is not final until you have completed the formal HET process. Your request may be declined and you may be asked to submit a new form with a 16 week notice period. However all requests will be considered on a case by case basis so please submit evidence of recent and extraordinary circumstances if your case is urgently requiring this protocol to be breached.
