What is Revalidation (1)

All practising doctors are subject to the GMC’s process of revalidation. For doctors in a structured training programme, this occurs every five years and at the point of CCT. Although ARCP is the mechanism for revalidation, the process is separate and your revalidation date will usually be out of sync with your ARCP. For the majority of trainees, revalidation will be a straightforward process informed by your ARCP outcomes. All new starters will be required to complete a Form R Part B which acts a statement of good standing for revalidation purposes.
