Outcome 3 meaning: Awarded when progress is inadequate and additional training time is required.
Who arranges remedial training:
The Postgraduate Dental Deanery oversees remedial placements.
Your Training Programme Director (TPD) will coordinate with the Deanery to identify a suitable practice or hospital post.
Your Educational Supervisor (ES) will support you in addressing the specific competencies flagged at your FRCP.
Process:
You will receive written confirmation of your extension and the competencies to be remediated should be available on your portfolio.
The Deanery will then allocate you to a remedial training post, often in consultation with your ES and TPD.
The Deanery’s administrative office, will ensure funding and contractual arrangements are in place.
