I have been given an extension to training through an FRCP outcome 3, who do I need to contact to arrange my remedial training placement?

  • Outcome 3 meaning: Awarded when progress is inadequate and additional training time is required.

  • Who arranges remedial training:

    • The Postgraduate Dental Deanery oversees remedial placements.

    • Your Training Programme Director (TPD) will coordinate with the Deanery to identify a suitable practice or hospital post.

    • Your Educational Supervisor (ES) will support you in addressing the specific competencies flagged at your FRCP.

  • Process:

    • You will receive written confirmation of your extension and the competencies to be remediated should be available on your portfolio.

    • The Deanery will then allocate you to a remedial training post, often in consultation with your ES and TPD.

    • The Deanery’s administrative office, will ensure funding and contractual arrangements are in place.
