Trainees are granted unpaid leave for the period of the OOP, and as such it is your responsibility to ensure the organisation offering the OOP provides you with an employment contract and terms and conditions of service. It is also your responsibility to establish with your current employer how the OOP will affect your statutory rights, continuation of service and pensions.
